Introduction

As I fell into the bookish space on social media in 2021, I started seeing shops that sold bookmarks and other accessories for readers. Somehow, I stumbled on corner bookmarks, made with either paper or fabric. And then I decided I wanted to figure out how to fold them with paper. It took a few tries and a few different sizes, but I was ultimately inspired by the humble paper football from high school note folding days. I was able to design a compact, neatly folded bookmark that held together without any tape or glue.

And once I perfected that, I wanted to figure out how to sell them. Keep reading to see how the modest little bookmark turned into a few thousand dollars in sales.
